Day 2 of Dr. Fuhrman’s 6- week Eat for Health Holiday Challenge
Well, I don’t want to sound like a parrot but day 2 went pretty much like day 1. I did great until I had to wait to eat such a late dinner, was tired and made super poor choices. I did walk all day long though. So, hopefully the damage from the ill gotten tortilla chips and “lord knows” what is in it cheese dip will be soon forgotten.
On a side note: I am now in my pre- Uganda pants.
This past summer I spent the most of July sitting on my behind doing my normal web development load and on top of that built a micro-credit site for a small community in Uganda. I gained probably 10 pounds of doing nothing but building web pages and working on the photographs. By the time the site was finished I was up more than a pants size and was having headaches daily from lack of physical activity.
I have since learned my lesson and will not do any more projects on such short dead lines unless they pay me unheard of amounts of money and I hire a personal trainer and an assistant. In other words, short dead lines will not work with this WAHM mom’s schedule period.
Any way, I am at the hotel most of the day relaxing so my food choices will be much better and of course dinner is probably going to be difficult again but at least I had my romaine lettuce and steamed mushrooms for lunch. Perhaps the momentum and positive thinking will get me through the rest of this day.
But the big kick in the pants today was my little guy went to the Water Park with his dad and since I don’t even own a bathing suit, much less have the will power to actually step out in public in one it was like a dagger going through my heart.
I am not whining, and I am not saying I could not put on bathing suit if I had to, but I just wanted this moment. My weight loss goals, my physical fitness goals, and me holding little guy’s hand as he dashed down his first waterslide. I am still holding on to this goal. But it just makes me break apart inside that his first Water Park experience was without his momma.
I am not going to sit here and cry about it, it is what it is. His brother got the easy going younger momma with all her 20 and 30 year old metabolism, but little guy is getting the older more experienced momma with the apple belly and the big heart.
I know I can do this challenge I just wish I could it faster.
