Yesterday I kicked off the Whole 30 with pretty good success. I cooked all the meals which simplified matters and did not miss my night wine too much at all. I walked to the Biggest Loser on the treadmill and was really impressed with their makeovers, especially David after he shaved off the beard! When he met with his family, I just cried and cried and cried. His story is so sweet, losing a wife to cancer and the remarrying but still hanging on to a promise to always be there for his children which now he will be able to with his new lean body machine.
Today, I plan to walk again as I am still dealing with some problems on the inside and eat as healthy as I can in the Whole 30 fashion.
Breakfast – Sausage and mushroom hash with one fired egg.
Lunch – Power Salad – I use organic romaine sliced and add all the veggies that are listed as green on the Whole 30 shopping list.
Dinner – Stir fry with tons of veggies and will try to enjoy cauliflower rice, but I really don’t like it so much. I am sure I will grow to love it as time goes by just like I have learned to eat kale. It took me years to love kale, and I don’t so much love it as I do tolerate it.
Pictured above is my breakfast from yesterday. Resting your fried egg on thinly sliced onions is a trick I learned from my aunt Inez in Arkansas. She was an excellent country cook and passed away nearly a decade ago and I do miss her so much. She had the most endearing laugh in the world and loved a good joke and a game of cards.
Have a rocking day!
When I do watch Biggest Loser, I blubber like a baby. Your meal doesn’t look bad!
I know, it is just awful how that show can make you cry. Thanks, it was not much food but I reckon I will have to get used to it.
It’s the portions problem for most Americans. Yea, Biggest Loser gives you a roller coaster of emotionals. Their story makes you cry sadly then the transformation makes you happy cry!
Congrats on doing the Whole30! I just updated my cauliflower rice recipe to include another cooking option (oven) which my non-Paleo eating family adores and says is much closer to rice. Maybe that will help you learn to like it 🙂
