“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson
I hold my breath reading this quote by beloved author Ralph Waldo Emerson. I hold my breath because it seems as if he is bidding us to do the impossible. “Forget them as soon as you can”…. I am a woman, for crying out loud, I forget nothing. I bring up the “blunders and absurdities” whenever I get the chance… they are my evil power-ups in the game of life.
I will take your words RWE and will try to be good and forget like a child forgets he was told to eat his vegetables.
It is a new day… I will try.
