I can remember my Granny hovering over my cousin and what seemed like a sister many moons ago. I remember how she always treated each of us equally, be it first cousins, second and beyond. I remember breaking bread with Eric at a picnic in Arkansas and feeling blessed to finally connect with a cousin that was kind of far away and off limits in my youth. But that does not mean I did not love him. I always kept a mental or written note of each person that was family and that includes everyone. Eric was the first Great Grandchild of my Abuelita, the granny he stirred into my soul the love of cooking and gave me the spit and fire I needed to endure many difficult days in my young adulthood. Eric will remain on my prayer list until I meet him and all those departed into the next place. RIP Eric please say hello to David, Danny( from the Alley side), Lisa ( Eric’s mama) and my granny and a grandfather Samuel Vega.
May he rest in peace with the angels above! Hugs!
